Layla {cure medulloblastoma}

When I visited Layla’s family, I was blown away by their faith through an unbelievable trial. I went to their home to create a family film for them in June of 2017. It is now October & things have gone drastically downhill for Layla, their sweet little girl. She is fighting medulloblastoma & the brain cancer is winning.

I wish I could convey to you the spunk & personality this amazing girl has. She is clearly so so so smart. She is so so so outgoing & verbal. She is amazing, really. It feels like talking to a little adult. I’m happy to have delivered the photos & family film below to them back in July. But I’m heartbroken that it has taken me a few months to blog their session & they are now in dire need of prayers for a miracle. You can follow up to date information about Layla’s status HERE.

The highlights of their family film are all of the “ordinary” things they love to do as a family. Bubbles, tickles, sidewalk chalk, & a deep, hard love through one of the darkest, hardest journeys that life can throw at anyone.

“The days go by with so many little things that don’t seem to matter. Until they’re no longer there & suddenly, they’re all that ever mattered.” – Brian Andreas

And here are a handful of photos from their Storytelling Session:

The story of Layla and her family is heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. Admittedly, I’ve spent the past half hour reading through the updates on the family’s Facebook page. As I was looking through the incredible story you created with photos, I couldn’t help but wonder .. Is it hard not to get attached? To document something so personal, and not become a friend of theirs for life? I know I would want to. x
