Hanging out with the Brown Family {Colorado Springs family film}

A few days ago, I spent an hour at this sweet family’s home, doing a Storytelling Session on their beautiful land, photographing & filming their relationship, love, fun & connection with each other.  This is the first time I’ve made a film for a family other than my own.  I learned several things from this session, but what stands out that I’ve learned is how much I’ve fallen in love with creating family films.  So often I hear other film-makers/photographers talking about how choosing the music is the hardest part.  So far, with all films I’ve made, the music selection has always been my very favorite!  My newest rule of thumb is…the song that makes me cry hardest when I run it while playing a few clips is “the one.”  Yes, I found myself crying when creating this!  Which, to me, means I’ve found something I’m passionate about.

“Dada!” she says with glee as he approaches to help her into the hammock…

Those AMAZING giggles on the sweet little one.  He is SO SMILEY at this age…

“I wish we could do this forever!” she squeals as she fights mom with a light saber…

The dogs TEARING around their yard, circling them…

A little boy who loves to look at his Mama’s necklace…

Daddy carrying kiddos tucked under his arm as they squeal…

A Mama kissing a hurt finger…& then sneaking in a light saber attack

This is what it’s all about.

Below, check out their sweet family film and their fantastic dogs.  Then check out some of their photos from their session as well!
